I started reading this book a couple of weeks ago and it is just hilarious and puts a smile on my face. It’s definitely an easy read as it is formatted in a way that each “awesome thing” is its own 1 – 3 page “chapter”.
I must say it makes my subway rides before/after work a lot easier with this book. I know there are two other versions of this book out now, The Book of (Even More) Awesome and The Book of (Holiday) Awesome… which I can’t wait to get my hands on!
The author started a blog called 1000awesomethings.com, which was launched in 2008 and it just grew immensely. The first book became an instant bestseller! AWESOME!
I enjoy this book b/c it truly signifies optimism and reminds me to be thankful for every moment in life – even the smallest ones. So if you’re having a bad day, I suggest you read a few pages in this book, or better yet, think of your own!
Some of my favorite “awesome things” from the book:
- Underwear straight out of the dryer (SO WARM AND COZY)
- Waking up to realize it’s a Saturday
- Waking up to realize I have a couple of more hours more to sleep
- Popping bubble sheet
- Finding money in your pocket
My personal “awesome” moment (you might relate if you take the TTC)..
the token machine rejecting your token and when you put your hand in the slot to retrieve yours, you find another one :) AWESOME!
What are some of your awesome moments?
