Skincare Routine: A.M.

Currently using for my combination dry skin (oily t-zone after 5-6 hours after washing my face and dry everywhere else):

1. Biore Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser
Very similar to the Clinique Liquid Face Soap, it’s a lightweight faming facewash.  It’s gentle and leaves your face clean without drying it.  Super easy to use as it’s in a pump form as well. I use this in the morning & night.

2. Clinique Clarifying lotion #2 or La Roche Posay Thermal Water Spray
I only use toner if my skin feels oily that day and when I do, I go for either one of these two.  Clinique’s toner leaves my face feeling super fresh and clean, while the la roche posay mist evens out my skin tone.

3. Origins Make A Difference Ultra-rich rejuvenating cream
LOVE LOVE LOVE this moisturizer. It’s very thick, creamy and rich without being greasy or too heavy.  I used to use a lighter moisturizer for the day time, but I find that this cream is the best I’ve used for my face.  I wouldn’t recommend using this if you have a oily skin type.  I love that this absorbs into my skin instantly and leaves my skin perfectly ready for makeup.

Review: Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

This moisturizer – made for combination oily or very oily skin is light, very soft and discreetly scented.  I chose this over the lotion version because apparently the mineral oil in the lotion formula clogs pores.

This product is really popular as step #3 in Clinique’s 3-Step Skin Care system that many people rave about.  I am using the liquid soap and toner and I love them both.  This time, I decided to add this product to my regimen to see if it is what it claims to be.

I’ve been using it for a few days in the morning and so far, I don’t like it.  It feels nice against my skin during application, but after about 15-20 minutes, my skin felt dry – even my oily t-zone areas.

Personally, I prefer moisturizers to be creamy rather than watery and the moisturizing gel didin’t leave that moisturizing feeling on my face.  Maybe my skin is not combination oily after all but more on the dry side?  However, if you’re someone who has very oily skin, I would recommend this along with the liquid soap and the toner as a complete 3-step system.

I’ll try this product again in the summer when it gets warmer because my skin tends to get more oily in the summer months.

Moisturizer for Combination Skin

Finding the perfect moisturizer is tricky, especially with so many brands and products out there with their marketing schemes.  It’s hard to know what is perfect for your skin unless you try all of them!

I have combination skin – oily t-zone with the rest of my face being super dry… in the summer, I just get oilier.

I did some research by reading other beauty guru’s blogs, youtube channels, product review etc but it’s still questionable until I try it myself.

Right now, I use Neutrogena’s Oil-Free Moisturizer in the morning and at night, Shiseido’s Benefiance Revitalizing Emulsion.  In the morning, I prefer something light whereas at night, I love creamy and rich moisturizers that feels like I’m getting all the moisture I need on my skin.  However, i find that maybe the Shiseido’s product is too much for me as I wake up and my t-zone is super shiny. The morning moisturizer is not moisturizing enough for my cheeks (dry area) and I often need to double up. Hence why I’m looking for something different!!

New products I’m trying out now:
(I will do a review for each product separately as I use them)

Clinique Dramatically Different Gel

Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion

Lush Imperialis Facial Moisturizer
